Musicians Take Hold of Copper Branch Songwriter Nights in Search of Music City Gold

by Rich and Laura Lynch

There is a new Songwriter Series held at the Copper Branch Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurant on Church Street in downtown Nashville. The event takes place on multiple evenings each week and is hosted by the charismatic artist hailing from Texas known professionally as "C4". Her rounds are a mixture of bookings book-ended by open-mic and guitar pull opportunities to give everyone a chance to show off their stuff in Music City.

MCN founder Rockin' Rich Lynch gets off to a fast start in 2022 at Copper Branch.

When we checked out the session on January 5, 2022 we learned exactly why the well-publicized get together is quickly becoming a favorite in town. First - you can't beat the location that allows aspiring artists an opportunity to gain some real-world Nashville performance experience just a few feet removed from the famed Ryman Auditorium. Second, you never know who is going to show as the slots are regularly filled by charting songwriters, well-honed locals and wide-eyed visitors who arrive star-struck and drawn to the dream that remains vitally alive in Music City. The roster during our first visit consisted of the following players in the order of their appearance.

WESTON JAMES - Listed on his Facebook page as a Country Music Recording Artist and Songwriter currently residing in Nashville.

C4 - The gracious host and gifted musician who captivated with her compelling stories and open tuning guitar accompaniment.

C4 - Our gracious host, talented performer and birthday girl!

SALINA SOLOMON - A Nashville singer with a nice vocal range and confident delivery. According to her own testimony this gig represented a return to the stage after a long break.

ANTHONY JOSEPH - A talented young man who just flew into Nashville and celebrated by writing a brand-new anthem for the city on the same day. Of note, he played left-handed by strumming a right-handed guitar turned upside down.

STEVE BROWN - An Idaho native recently relocated to Nashville. He has arrived with a lot of talent and charismatic charm in tow. One to watch for sure.

The rest of the Wednesday night cast.

BOBBY RAY - So glad to be turned on to this prolific songwriter originally hailing from Ohio who proved that rock is alive with his "Prisoner of Rock and Roll" and more. The real deal!

ROCKIN' RICH LYNCH - Your MCN founder was thrilled to be back on the scene with his ongoing quest to become the "Next King of Rock and Roll" plus "Jesus Rock" and "Vague To The Max".

JAVELYN - Now four years in this musical transplant from California and Hawaii has made her mark on Music City to now proudly call herself Nashvillian. However, she still has roots to her former island home as her always soothing sing-along "Crazy Kava" can attest. Loved her "air guitar". Well, I mean her sweet looking electric ukulele.
