AU Pro Basketball Returns For a Second Triumphant Month-Long Stand in Nashville

by Rich and Laura Lynch

AU Pro Basketball returns for a second year to Nashville, Tennessee. Games will be held at the Municipal Auditorium starting February 04 and run through March 01, 2026. This gives fans plenty of opportunities to watch world-class women in action on the basketball court.

In February, AU Pro Basketball returned for another month-long stand in Nashville.

AU Pro Basketball brings a number of unique spins to the sport. Such as teams are redrafted each week, which means you observe the best players battling with and against each other in different configurations. All active participants from the roster will be on one of the four teams each week. They work under the same constraints as typical basketball having to keep an eye on the scoring time while hoping to add points to their individual stats which is an important part of AU.

In AU each athlete earns points for their contributions. However, their numbers can go down for fouls and poor sportsmanship. In this league "every point counts" which adds an extra element of excitement as folks watch the leaderboard change constantly throughout the game as contenders make plays. They earn points in three ways: 1) when their team wins a game and/or quarter 2) when they make a positive play on the court or they can go down in the standings for an error. 3) when they are voted one of the top 3 MVPs of a game by teammates and fans.

Kaitlyn Chen was the Week #1 leader; past AU Champions on display in Nashville.

In 2025, the lineup's names were based on who was the leader. For 2026, the squads have monickers so after the last game of every week, the top four-point scorers will be named team captains. Each will be assigned to a squad color based on their standings as follows: #1 Gold Rush, #2 Glow, #3 Rhythm and #4 Eclipse. From there they will consult with coaches, staff and teammates to craft a winning format for the next week of competitions.

All this adds up to world-class talent playing at a high level in every game. Folks are encouraged to pick favorite players, cheer for their teams and watch them compete as they climb up the leaderboard and when the season comes to an end see who is crowned the champion. On February 07, 2026, we saw Eclipse (80/76) and Glow (83/78) win their respective matches earning each player an extra 180 points with Kaitlyn Chen #20 topping the leaderboard and moving into the role of captain for the following week.

Medals, footwear and the AU Music Series returned in 2026.

AU utilizes tech in colorful and informative ways such as the afore mentioned ever changing leaderboard. They also have fan-cams as most leagues do along with fun giveaways. The concourse at the Municipal Auditorium showcased another new element called the "Champion Collection" in which the history and the stars of AU were highlighted. AU has activities along with a team store where fans can purchase items with the new team logos. All this along with two basketball games makes for an engaging evening.

AU has crafted an encouraging environment for girls hoping to pursue sports as a career along with providing family friendly entertainment. Another win-win of AU is that the athletes earn bonuses over time and at the end of the year AU matches the bonus amounts to each player's charity of choice. So, please come out and enjoy and support AU!

The up close action was friendly but competitive at the Municipal Auditorium.
