The Champions of Magic Appear with a Thrilling Holiday Spectacular at The Fisher Center in Nashville
Christmas came early to the Fisher Center in Nashville, Tennessee with their presentation of Champions of Magic: Holiday Spectacular. The show on Thursday, December 04, 2025 featured grand-scale magic, intriguing illusions and festive surprises for the whole family. The Champions of Magic are known for their high-energy, interactive programs and this one was packed with seasonal cheer.
The Champions of Magic: Holiday Spectacular was - as billed - spectacular in Nashville. The Christmas cast featured Young & Strange from the UK, Liberty Larsen and Fernando Velasco. As children Young & Strange bonded over their interest in magic. They spent their teen years studying the craft and overtime they created spectacular illusions that would lead them to some of the biggest stages around the world. Liberty Larsen is a fourth-generation magician of the Larsen family, the creators of the Magic Castle, Genii Magazine and the Academy of Magical Arts. Over time, Liberty has fashioned her own unique style of enchantment that blends humor, mystery and poetry. Fernando Velasco was mentored by some of the States' leading illusionists and now Fernando is pushing the boundaries of what an escapologist can do. In 2017, he became the youngest artist in the world to present his version of Houdini's Water Torture Cell. Champions of Magic: Holiday Spectacular was a mystical mix of illusions, skits and storytelling. They touched upon the history of magic and over the course of the evening these wizards shared their narratives spiked with wit. Music along with props enhanced the entertaining elements of this spectacle. Much of the alchemy was performed with members from the audience. In addition to interactive activities the Champions presented classic card tricks along with making things appear and disappear. As much as we tried to see if there were secret compartments a lot of the spaces were so small that it was hard to picture a person hiding there - plus switches were done in seconds - very impressive!
Young & Strange were featured performers throughtout the evening at The Fisher Center. Various themes were woven into the night. Numerous close‑up shots captured sleight‑of‑hand tricks performed with rolled‑up sleeves, each defying logic. Since this was a holiday show they portrayed the spirits that haunted Ebenezer Scrooge from "A Christmas Carol" and later a number of guests were invited on stage to join the Champion's holiday party where they executed parlor games with magical twists that again was very hard to explain. Liberty Larsen demonstrated some of the early illusions that she learned from her ancestors while touching upon the fact that sorcery has been passed down through the ages with some tricks dating backing to the Egyptians. Young & Strange talked about going to Vegas in their formative years to see their heroes. This flowed into a flashy grand finale with all four staging feats that seemed supernatural. Champions of Magic: Holiday Spectacular was enchanting, energized and engaging! This interactive show melded comedy, jaw-dropping magic and joy to create a one-of-a-kind experience perfect for the season.
