John Rich's Lifestyle Brand Grows Bigger By the Day in Nashville

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Nashville-based country star John Rich is living large and loving life as his lifestyle brand expands to keep pace with the musician's ever evolving take on the American dream. That was the message delivered on Saturday night, March 27, 2021 as Rich rolled out the latest additions to his Redneck Riviera product line from his bar of the same name along with a little help from some of his famous friends in Music City.

John Rich gets the band back together in Nashville.

When we last caught up with John Rich for a lifestyle brand update it was January of 2020 and he was excited to tell us about his new line of tasty beef jerky and a delicious adult fruit punch flavored beverage called Howdy Dew. Then the pandemic hit and the enthusiastic roll-out collided with the stark reality that the world had changed. But, Rich remained defiant, determined and undeterred.

Fast forward fourteen months later and the Howdy Dew offerings have grown into four distinct flavors and the cans have gotten bigger, too. The 8% ABV flavored beverage now comes in sharp looking 24 ounce containers with a lemonade, ice tea and strawberry mango variety joining the fabulous flagship fruit punch on store shelves around the nation soon.

John Rich, the founder, majority owner and creative mind behind the Redneck Riviera portfolio of products announced the launch of Redneck Spirits Group during the event. In addition to the Howdy Dew product line, the privately held company will offer the popular Redneck Riviera and Granny Rich Reserve Whiskeys. The new entity has partnered with Bonavita Beverage Group of Louisville, KY as its new operations, sales and marketing partner. This move will help streamline aspects of production and logistics meaning that the whiskey is now produced in the heartland of America. Folds of Honor will continue to receive a portion of every bottle sold. To date, Redneck Riviera bottle sales has helped fund over 100 scholarships to children and spouses of our fallen and disabled heroes.

A surprising appearance by rock legend Meat Loaf added to the historic tone of the night.

"Our motto is, 'Work Hard, Play Hard' and that is what the team at Redneck Riviera has done," says Rich, one half of the multi-platinum award winning country duo Big & Rich. "Since we launched in 2018, we have been honored with awards and deemed one of the fastest growing American whiskey brands on the market. Today, we are proud to announce a new chapter with the Redneck Spirits and Bonavita Beverage Group. It is an exciting time for the Redneck Riviera brand, and we are looking forward to building an even larger footprint with our new partners in Kentucky."

Since the launch of Redneck Riviera Whiskey in 2018, the brand has made inroads at an unprecedented pace in a very competitive market. In less than 18 months, the brand has gone from a regional to a national brand in over 40 states. This is a testament to its quality, marketing strategy and passion of John Rich. The new partnership will allow the brand to go to the next level.

But, wait - there's more. Placed on tables throughout the second floor private party were attractive bottles of John Rich's new "1776 BBQ Sauce" - a quality product with tomato puree, real sugar, apple cider vinegar, and their secret blend of spices for an authentic All-American taste. It's the sauce for those that know how to "Work Hard & Play Hard". This partnership with Red Gold tomato brands taps into that company's over 75 years experience in bringing quality tomato products to the marketplace. Look for their John Rich and 1776 brand wrapped 18-wheelers on a highway near you.

Of course, there was a musical component and John had help from many friends none bigger than the classic rock legend Meat Loaf who was in the building. When he took the stage he mentioned that this was the first time singing in four years following several rounds of grueling back surgery. With prompting from Rich - his castmate on Celebrity Apprentice - Meat Loaf sang a a few bars of "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" before leading the band and bar in a sturdy version of "Johnny Be Good" that saw Meat break out in a few smiles seemingly happy to be performing once again.

Financial expert Dave Ramsey and singer Taryn Papa - a Top 10 finalist from Team Blake on the most recent season of The Voice - were also in the house. John Rich led the "Big & Rich" boys through a quick set that included "Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)" and the patriotic "The Good Lord and the Man" that was a timely and fitting tribute that he wrote for his grandfather in honor of his military service. Rich also gave a shout out to he beloved Granny Rich - whose presence was fully felt in a moving memorial set up in a prominent corner by the bar.

On an evening night when Nashville would flood again, we were overwhelmed by a deluge of John Rich's generosity. He made sure we were fed with a flavorful spread of barbecue chicken and pork along with sides from local favorites Jim 'N Nick'. Guests had access to an open bar and John made sure we all got an extra shot of his whiskey to toast the memory of his beloved recently passed Granny Rich. As if that wasn't enough attendees received a gift bag loaded with Redneck Riviera schwag and a complimentary Goo Goo cluster thrown in for good measure. With the imposing presence of rock legend Meat Loaf embarking on what we all hope will be a return to form - there's nothing else to say except that this was one hell of a night in Nashville.
