John Rich Is Living Large As His Lifestyle Brand Expands Across the Land

by Rich and Laura Lynch

We had the pleasure of visiting Mount Rushmore in 2017. But, did you know Music City has its very own similarly named monument - that being Mt. Richmore - the 17,081 square foot expansive home of John Rich? Never in our wildest dreams would we have entertained the thought that an invitation inside the gates of the Big & Rich singer's 20-room mansion would be possible. Yet, that's exactly what happened when we attended a press conference and party to celebrate and announce the recent additions to the talented entrepreneur's lifestyle brand known as Redneck Riviera at the sprawling estate often called "The House that Music Built" on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Once inside the large swinging steel gate emblazoned with the residence's moniker we quickly strolled down what some say is the largest red carpet in the world to enter into the fabulous foyer where we were greeted with many of John's awards and Johnny Cash collection of memorabilia that were mounted high on the interior walls. We were treated to poured samples of Rich's flagship Redneck Riviera American Whiskey that satisfied with a light vanilla infused butterscotch sweetness and a bright touch of honey on the nose. We were just getting started.

Next, Team MCN and a pool of Music City media boarded John's large elevator for a ride up to his personal playground. Once inside the luxurious lift we were rewarded with glimpses of John's greatest brushes with fame as the panels were covered with pictures of the country star posing with the likes of Donald Trump, Tom Petty, Merle Haggard, Quincy Jones and dozens more. We exited into a multi-purpose room that serves as both a bar and personal performance space that would be our home for the next 5 hours.

Seated at the bar Rich went right to work thanking the media for their ongoing enthusiastic support of the Redneck Riviera Lifestyle Brand and then quickly proceeded to dish the exciting news about the company's expanded product offerings. First up was the fact that the whiskey line has doubled with the roll-out of Granny Rich Reserve which celebrates his beloved grandmother's octogenarian status with an 86 proof variety of the amber spirit.

For us, the highlight of the evening came when Rich unveiled his latest trick in the form of a neatly packaged 4-Pack of Howdy Dew. This red colored concoction is an adult beverage that will bring back childhood memories even as it delivers its delicious knock-out fruit punch flavor with its substantially large 5.5% ABV content. Rich guaranteed that it's sure to get the party started and told us to TIP IT, SIP IT, CHUG IT. We did and so did everyone else in the room and the limited sample supply was soon a tasty memory. No worries, though. Rich's bar stayed open all night with complimentary beers and mixed drinks that went down easy as the Titans played to an intoxicating victory on the room's three big screens.

Rich wasn't finished. He explained that Redneck Riviera has expanded into all corners of the country and is gaining a foothold in many of the nation's largest retailers, too. With a strong distribution network in place he cracked open a package of his new Spicy Fried Pickle Seasoned Pork Strips - one of three varieties of tender and flavorful jerky that will soon join the beverages in the marketplace. One media rep took a taste and exclaimed, "that's the real dill".

John Rich came to fame as a member of Lonestar. But, it was his humble Texas beginnings living not so large in an Amarillo double wide that has stayed with him through life and has kept him refreshingly humble and approachable. His third solo album was called "Son of a Preacher Man" and there was real meaning behind its title. John's father taught him the value of tithing and the younger Rich took the message to heart revealing that one tenth of the proceeds earned from his lifestyle brand are ear-marked for charities earning well over $300,000 to date.

The current recipient of Rich's generous funding is Folds of Honor. Since 2007, the Folds of Honor has carried forth a singular, noble mission to provide educational scholarships to spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled service-members. John told the tale of one woman who was studying to become a nurse when the tragic news of her husband's passing hit home. The organization was able to help her acquire the remaining credit hours needed in order for her to pursue a better career to keep her family moving forward in the face of her loved one's ultimate sacrifice - a noble cause, indeed.

To round out the night John Rich took the professionally equipped stage with his solo band kicking the private show off with a spirited Johnny Cash cover. Throughout the hour-long set he performed with friend Cowboy Troy and gave a shout-out to country music star Wade Hayes who sauntered up to the stage to dance with his newlywed bride who just happened to be Rich's cousin. Before closing with his biggest hit "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" , Rich revealed that he just wrapped shooting an eight-episode run of a forthcoming show for FOX Nation in this very room. Called "The Pursuit! With John Rich" and airing beginning in February 2020 - the newly minted host will talk with signature star guests and personal friends who will delve into their journey to achieve the American dream. It's a role that he is well-cast for as he knows a thing or two about the subject matter.
