Riley Clemmons Performs Sounds of Faith at First Horizon Park in Nashville

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Attending a Nashville Sounds game is always fun but when we heard that August 22, 2025 was billed as a night of baseball, music and community we figured those were good reasons to head over to First Horizon Park. The Faith & Family Worship Night presented by Level Wellness included a pre-game performance by Riley Clemmons at 5:30 pm and a rendition of the National Anthem from Nashville First Baptist Choir. Also, throughout the evening, a number of videos were shown as some of the players talked about their own personal faith journeys.

Riley Clemmons was vivacious and entertaining and helped power the Sounds to victory in August.

Musician Riley Clemmons spent quite a few years in writer's rooms before she hit it big with her Capitol CMG debut single "Broken Prayers" (2017) which has generated over 60 million global streams since its release. The following year her self-titled debut charted. We had the pleasure of seeing Miss Clemmons with Michael W. Smith last Christmas and we enjoyed her short set at the stadium that concluded with fans singing along to the uplifting and inspiring "Fighting For Me" which is a RIAA Gold Certified song.

The Nashville Sounds are affiliated with the Brewers and in the past they were a farm system for the Cincinnati Reds, the New York Yankees and more. The team has assisted with big league careers for the likes of Don Mattingly, Ryan Braun, R.A. Dickey and Magglio Ordonez. The Sounds have crafted a family friendly environment with giveaways, promos and opportunities for fan engagement. One of our favorites is when they invite a youngster to be an announcer for an inning. We also get a kick out of the Country Legends Race in which people dressed up as large versions of Cash, Dolly, George Jones and Reba run half of the warning track in the outfield to the finish line just past third base. On the 22nd, George lived up to his name of no-show jones and only three competitors took to the field with Dolly taking the victory that was quickly folowed by an ad on the scoreboard for her new line of wine. Perhaps the fix was in!

Themed nights such as Faith & Family are a big part of the Sounds' season. Firework Fridays are a draw, and they have designated dog days. Earlier in the year there was a Star Wars Night and August 30th, 2025, is Harry Potter Night so that package will include an exclusive Harry Potter branded Nashville Sounds shirt. Throughout the year, the team wears a variety of additional alternate uniforms. At times they will play as the Las Vihuelas in a tribute to the classic Mexican guitar and Latin culture. On other occasions they don the baby blue of their parent club and take the field as the Brewskis - a playful nod to the Milwaukee Brewers.

On Friday, faith was rewarded as the hometown boys of summer won with a decisive final score of 8-4 against the sluggish Louisville Bats and fans won with an engaging night of baseball, entertainment and faith. The Nashville Sounds will be playing through mid-September so there is still time to attend a game - and we'll keep praying for a playoff appearance.

Riley and Dolly were the big winners on Faith & Family Worship Night.
