CatVideoFest Claws Its Way Back For Ninth Big Year On the Big Screen in Nashville
The historic Belcourt Theater becomes the "Belcat Theater" this week as CatVideoFest returns to the Belcourt in Nashville, Tennessee August 01 through 07, 2025 with proceeds going to the locally based Cat Colony Food Pantry.
![]() The Belcourt Theatre transformed into the "Belcat" for one week in Nashville. CatVideoFest is a compilation of some of the best cat reels and videos picked from numerous unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos and classic internet staples. CatVideoFest is an enjoyable communal experience, only available in theaters nationwide for a limited engagement. CatVideoFest is an engaging 75-minute-movie that is family-friendly and raises money for animals in need through partnerships with local cat charities and rescues to best serve felines in the area. Since 2019, over $150,000 has been raised for local shelters in addition to adoptions, fostering, volunteer sign-ups and much more at showings. This year CatVideoFest is supporting the Cat Colony Food Pantry. Per their website this organization provides cat food to colony caretakers in Nashville, Tennessee. Many colony caretakers struggle to afford necessities for themselves, yet their compassion motivates them to care for the cats that they encounter. In addition, people are often stigmatized by neighbors and society at large for helping these animals that no one owns. This makes it even harder to ask for and receive help.
![]() The Belcourt Theatre once again served as home base for CatVideoFest in Nashville in 2025. As explained by their founder Erica Ciccarone before the movie, the Cat Colony Food Pantry also believes that trap-neuter-return (TNR) is an effective way to control the outdoor feline population. They provide education and outreach to help folks navigate the low-cost spay/neuter clinics in Middle Tennessee. Please support this worthy cause if you can. The Belcourt Theatre is celebrating 100 years of presenting the best of films such as CatVideoFest, classics, documentaries, independent, world and more. It is a unique Nashville treasure with an important historic past and deep roots in the community. CatVideoFest has been seen in over 250 theaters in the United States and Canada, as well as over 100 venues in Europe. If they have not been to a cinema near you, reach out to them and they will make it happen! As long as there is a local shelter to partner with as a beneficiary - CatVideoFest will find a place to screen this comical and cute movie.
