Gibson Garage Gets Ready to Open Its Doors in Nashville (Part 2)

by Rich and Laura Lynch

We arrived for a media sneak preview of the Gibson Garage on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 and were soon greeted by Jordan Sromek - Retail Director for the establishment who would serve as our personal tour guide for the afternoon. However, before we got started we had to first get over our awe at the axe haven and heaven that has materialized in Music City. The first thing you notice going inside is the 190 flashy and colorful iconic instruments in the form of Les Pauls, Flying Vs, Firebirds, SGs and more that move over your head on a non-stop conveyor belt.

The Gibson Garage is set to open its doors in Nashville on June 09, 2021.

Once adjusted, our enthusiastic and beaming host Jordan took us to the on-site custom build room where clients can come in and choose the material and elements they would like in a personalized guitar. From there, in a Build-A-Bear type process -- details are gathered that will result in a one-of-a-kind product approximately six months down the line. If a player wants that vintage feel without the excessive cost the "Murphy Lab" is on location to help give your new guitar that distressed and aged look while being a brand new and modern product.

Jordan Sromek - Retail Director of Gibson Garage - shows off the company's latest handiwork.

The expansive 8,000 square foot shop will officially open to the public on Wednesday, June 9 at the historic Cummins Station located on 209 10th Avenue South, Nashville, TN in the heart of downtown Nashville and promises to be the ultimate guitar and music experience, including its state-of-the-art stage for live and virtual livestreaming concert performances. The Gibson Garage combines a modern guitar environment with interactive brand storytelling, a Custom Shop to build your own guitar, historical and celebrity memorabilia displays, a Repair and Restoration Center.

The public retail shopping experience includes access across the ever-expanding line of Gibson Brands - including Gibson Acoustic, Gibson Custom Shop, Epiphone, Kramer, MESA/Boogie, and KRK. At the Gibson Garage, fans can try all the company's guitars across brands and collections as well as take a piece of history home with one-of-a-kind, in-store offers on limited-edition guitars, instruments, gear, accessories, and exclusive Gibson apparel.

The KRK Systems help you capture your performance for posterity's sake.

"The Gibson Garage is the epitome of when the legendary creativity of the original brand perfectly coincides with the vision of the future of the modern electric and acoustic guitar," said Joe Bonamassa who was on-hand at the opening to run a panel consisting of other musicians and Gibson adherents. "Congratulations on a job well done."
