Gibson Grows Its Brand and Expands Corporate Footprint in Nashville

by Rich and Laura Lynch

No doubt it's exciting times at Gibson Brands. Last week they announced that > "Gibson Brands continues to go from strength to strength with the recent addition of the iconic MESA/Boogie brand, the launch of the Gibson App, the opening of the Custom Shop Murphy Lab and now with a series of organization shifts designed to set the stage for the future. Gibson is pleased to announce that Cesar Gueikian has been promoted to the newly created position of Brand President at Gibson Brands. Gueikian joined Gibson in 2018 as part of the 'new' leadership team and has been instrumental in Gibson's resurgence with his relentless focus on guitar relevance, premium quality, brand building, and artist connections. In his new role, Cesar will take on additional responsibilities centered around future Gibson innovation, omni-experience, and strategic brand management."

It's a Tenth Avenue takeover at Cummins Station for Gibson Brands.

So, with all of that going on we decided to pay a visit to Cummins Station in downtown Nashville, Tennessee to see how things were coming along with their ongoing move to the heart of Music City. What we discovered was nothing less than a Tenth Avenue takeover as the guitar manufacturer has commandeered space on both the north and south side of the building. Previously we saw the Gibson logo prominently positioned two stories up and visible to passerbys traveling west on Demonbruen. What was new this time was that the right side of the building was festooned with signage hailing a soon to come "Gibson Garage".

It's still a mystery what it will contain but the "Gibson Garage" is coming soon.

While we're not exactly sure what the "garage" will contain Team MCN did have a one on one interview with Gibson's president and chief executive officer James "JC" Curleigh a few years back and asked him if there was any intention of Gibson joining in all the excitement of the ongoing downtown development. At that time he indicated that adding a company branded tourist attraction would certainly be a part of the mix. With a name like "Gibson Garage" we can envision that a performance space will also be announced. Fans won't have to wait too long as their media representative advised us to be on the lookout for a May press release with additional details and a summer 2021 opening. This is gonna be good!

We suggest renaming this strip in front of Cummins Station "Les Paul Lane".
