Curb Records Preps Simultaneous Release of Two REAGAN Related Albums at Treeline Bamboo in Franklin

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Well, there they go again. The creative team behind 2024's REAGAN film gathered at the event facility Treeline Bamboo on Monday, August 11, 2025 to hold a star-studded party for a pair of soundtrack album's related to the movie.

Two new REAGAN related albums are on their way from Curb Records.

Those much anticipated and very eclectic products are set to feature music from REAGAN - the 2024 Dennis Quaid-starring feature film - REAGAN: Original Soundtrack Album and REAGAN: Songs Inspired By The Film that will be released simultaneously in September (or make that late, August) on Curb Records.

One of Nashville's most prominent record execs Mike Curb was in the house and during a panel session that detailed the process of selecting and gathering music for the albums - Curb was still working in real time to nail down the actual release date with staff in attendance as the timing will be critical in determining when the project will be Grammy eligible. He also described how the announcement of these much-anticipated collections was ultimately delayed by the previous musical director's passing.

On Monday, Curb went way back - to his days as a California politician, recalling his time serving as Lieutenant Governor of the Golden State in 1978 before becoming co-chairman of Ronald Reagan's successful presidential campaign in 1980. Mike also wrote a song or two with the man called "The Gipper" who helped bring an end to the Cold War as depicted in the film.

Phil Keaggy played his take on a Guns N' Roses classic as the producer's panel looked on.

Curb presented the unfinished track to Lee Greenwood who would receive co-writing credit along with Curb and Reagan on a song titled "Start the World Over Again" that he performed live at the invite-only V.I.P. event and which will also appear on "Songs Inspired By" compilation.

Other performances were given by various artists who guest on the albums themselves, including - The Imaginaries, Phil Keaggy, Kathie Lee Gifford, The Commodores and Ricky Skaggs. Additional informative panels and a local artist named ShenShen who was working on a portrait of Ronald Reagan as the evening's activities unfolded all added to the intellectually stimulating atmosphere created in part by the inspiring subject matter that the film provided.

More discussions about the music on the upcoming releases came from film producer Mark Joseph and music producer Vince Emmett who talked about their pleasure in having Bob Dylan being a part of their project. When remarking about a contribution from Genesis they revealed how that band didn't initially want to be involved until they learned details about the scene over which they would be played and that was enough to console their potential political opposition to being included. Lastly, we learned that Gene Simmons of KISS will be heard singing slightly out of character the 1930's torch song "Stormy Weather" that was also featured prominently in REAGAN.

Nashville artist ShenShen210 painted a new Reagan Mural as The Commodores, Ricky Skaggs, Lee Greenwood, Randy Owen and a younger Mike Curb looked on.

REAGAN the movie was actually written in Franklin, Tennessee and on this night it was hailed as a triumph in "transformational storytelling" as it told the life story of the 40th President of the United States in great detail from the age of a young boy to his death in 2004. Released in a contentious and partisan political climate the film currently has the unique status of having the widest disparity of critical approval between fans and critics on Rotten Tomatoes ranging from 18% on the low side to a near perfect 98% on the Popcornmeter.

REAGAN Songs Inspired By The Film - Artists: Travis Tritt, Marty Stuart, Tanya Tucker, Ricky Skaggs, Lee Greenwood, The Commodores, Kathie Lee Gifford, Gary Cherone, Alabama, Wayne Newton and Sweet Comfort Band. REAGAN: Original Soundtrack Album - Artists: Molly Jenson, Love, Lies & Fiction, BJ Thomas, Robert Davi, MORIAH, Gene Simmons, Clint Black, Scott Stapp, Phil Keaggy, The Imaginaries, Genesis, The Troggs, DeGarmo & Key and Bob Dylan.

The celebratory event took place at the welcoming studio and production facility of Treeline Bamboo Partners - a content agency now based near the front entrance of the continuing to expand and ever-evolving Factory retail and entertainment space on Franklin Road near the downtown.

The evening's entertainment line-up also included The Imaginaries, Chris Roach and Kathie Lee Gifford.
