Everything Is Just Ducky Over in the Music Valley

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Things just keep getting better and better over at the Music Valley near the Grand Ole Opry and Opry Mills Mall. The Music Valley Village often called a hidden gem in Nashville for offering a variety of unique shops and attractions such as Cooters and The Nashville Palace - is a destination for locals and tourists alike as new businesses continue to emerge and expand at the L-shaped strip mall just off of the Briley Parkway.

Duckies, Candles and Friends has landed at the Music Valley arriving in December, 2024.

Take for instance - Duckies, Candles and Friends that just opened in December 2024 as an extension of their online store Good Lather Soaps LLC - that sells homemade soaps and scented candles. In addition, the brick and mortar location also allows them to bring to market a curiously compelling collection of rubber duckies both small and large. Our favorites were the ones that depicted duck-centric takes on famous musical figures including Freddie Mercury, Roger Daltrey and Dolly Parton.

Shop owner Tamee Knapp spends part of her day hand-crafting scented candles behind the counter in Nashville.

Visit and you will become enchanted by their colorful, multi-room store packed floor to ceiling with interesting and intriguing products - that includes a select cache of quality items curated from local businesses from right here in the Mid Tenn region. Somehow Bigfoot and the Jeep truck is mixed up in all this, too. So motor on over to 2416 Music Valley Drive #114 to make a sighting of your own. We promise, it will be hard to leave the premises empty-handed.

The colorful store is warm and inviting with multiple rooms filled with retail products.

With the arrival of "Duckies, Candles and Friends" to the village - along with the expanded square footage at The Catio and the new V.I.P. Lounge at The Troubadour - things continue to be hopping on the touristy side of town. We have noticed a new tenant getting ready to really bring the music back to the directory of stores in the form of a used record and multi-media shop and that should be music to everyone's ears including customers and existing businesses. We know we will be back soon to see who and what lands next in the Music Valley.

It wouldn't be Music City without music themed rubber duckies!
