Comedian Steve Goodie is Good and Funny in Nashville

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Comedian and musician Steve Goodie had such a good time a few weeks back performing his one-man show at The Lab At Zanies in Nashville that he decided to reprise the event for his family and friends at his favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Thus, on Taco Tuesday, October 1, 2024 AL! The Weird Al Tribute was welcomed as Mr. Goodie continued his an ongoing residency at Agave's on the Briley Parkway that coincidently marked the annual National Taco Day with flavorful comedic takes on two world-famous entertainment icons.

By pure coincidence we had only recently watched the 2022 quasi-biographical film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story starring Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame. So, Steve's current presentation of material from his album "AL! The Weird Al Tribute and How Daniel Radcliffe Got Mixed Up in All This Nonsense" made perfect sense to this pair of viewers.

Goodie's amusing live performance incorporated the use of unauthorized avatars of Weird Al with Daniel Radcliffe using the mostly fictitious movie as a springboard for Steve's conversations with the iconic actor and musician while employing props such as an accordion to enhance his humorous, well-timed interactions with Al and Daniel. Goodie paid tribute to his fellow musical comedian with tunes including an impressive 3-minute montage of 12 Weird Al hits. Steve also included a segment about the chemical elements in which he rattled off the entire periodic table. Thus Goodie's performance was educational as well as entertaining.

Steve's host the Agave's Mexican Restaurant is located at 839 Briley Parkway in Nashville, Tennessee. They serve up tasty tacos and more - including this satisfying night of dinner theater featuring one of Music City's best loved comedians - all making for a great pairing of ethnic food and a Weird Al Tribute. In the coming months - in addition to his Second Tuesday of every month gig at Agave's - Steve is scheduled to dish out his well-crafted, fast-paced and engaging show honoring the master of song parodies and the wizard of the big screen at more locations near and far. Visit his site for tour dates and ticket information.
