The Legendary Dolly Parton Delivers a Blistering and Scathing Rebuke of the State of the World on Fiery New Single
It's the one we've been waiting for. Dolly Parton is transitioning from Country to Rock - and just like everything else about her - she's doing it in a very big way. The first single from her much anticipated Rockstar album arriving later in the year has dropped. Titled "World On Fire" - the surprising, scintillating and sermonesque rocker finds Parton preaching a message of fire and brimstone just like her grand-daddy did all those years ago in the Great Smoky Mountains.
"This is a song I felt very inspired to write. I think it speaks about everything and to everyone this day and time," Parton said at a media event in Dallas announcing the single's release. "I hope it is something that will touch you and maybe touch enough people to want to make a change for the better." As for the rest of the album, well the global superstar and recent Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame inductee is not burning bridges. Parton has joined forces with some of Rock music's brightest luminaries along with today's biggest stars for her first-ever Rock album, Rockstar. The ever-evolving Parton teamed up with an all-star roster of musicians for the 30-song collection which includes 9 original tracks and 21 iconic Rock anthems. Rockstar is set for global release on November 17th via Butterfly Records with distribution by Big Machine Label Group and will be available as a 4 LP set, a 2 CD set, digital download and on all streaming services.
