WXNA 101.5 FM Free Form Radio Celebrates Seven Years on the Air in Nashville with a Well-Stocked Fundraising Yard Sale
by Rich and Laura Lynch
Nashville's freeform community radio station WXNA broadcasting at 101.5 launched (7) years ago built from scratch by (7) Nashvillians who love music and good radio. On Saturday, June 24, 2023 they celebrated this milestone by holding a fundraising yard sale in the front lot of The Packing Plant where their eclectic studio transmits to the Nashville core on the FM dial and to the world via an Internet simulcast.
Michael and Chris of WXNA at The Packing Plant in Nashville.
The team from MCN stopped by early to see what was happening and can gladly report that what was taking place was the kind of garage sale we can really sink our teeth into. Boxes upon boxes of rare and sealed CDs and promotional items were on display and we picked up a few favorites by locals Nikki Lane, Lilly Hiatt and her dad John. In additional to ample and amazing discounted new vinyl by the likes of Pink Floyd and other classic rock acts there was also posters from local concerts that were moving like hot cakes. And don't forget that big box of vintage Beatles T-shirts which is something you don't see every day.
We met up up with Program Director Chris and host Michael who were there along with many of the other station volunteers giving of their time in order to guarantee that WXNA stays on the air for another seven years. So tune in. I know we will as we have just found our favorite station - and perhaps favorite yard sale - in Nashville.
This was the best yard sale we've attended in a long time.
