Earth Day Draws a Crowd at Centennial Park

by Rich and Laura Lynch

The annual Nashville Earth Day gathering took place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 and Mother Nature responded by providing a picture perfect day for all the exhibitors, vendors, musicians and environmental advocates who made this incarnation of the event one to remember. Attendees really got a chance to lay down some roots for the cause as 500 free trees were given away courtesy of the Nashville Tree Foundation with sponsorship from Amazon. And, it wouldn't be Music City without some fine musical entertainment - and we enjoyed the sets we caught from Ireland's folky Josh Okeefe, the industrious and fiery duo Striking Matches, and the Beatlesque offerings of East Nashville's own Aaron Lee Tasjan.

The Parthenon was bustling with life on Earth Day.

NES was showcasing their electric energy options and giving away a lot of schwag.

Compost Nashville was on hand to break down the benefits of their innovative recycling program.

It doesn't get any better than a trip down the Natchez Trace.

Nashville Earth 2022 was an incredible success at the city's Central Park.
