Muscadine Bloodline Hit the Streets of Nashville with their Demonstrative and Determined "Dispatch to 16th Ave."

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Muscadine Bloodline celebrated the release of their latest album Dispatch to 16th Ave. at a livestream event held at the legendary Bobby's Idle Hour Tavern on February 04, 2022. The guys with support on drums and pedal steel presented a solid showcase of songs from the distinctive Dispatch to 16th Ave.

Muscadine Bloodline is an independent country duo who are proud of their southern culture. Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton grew up in Mobile, Alabama yet didn't cross paths until they each started to pursue their musical dreams around 2012. It would take a few more years for them to craft a band name that tipped its hat to their roots as Muscadine grapes are grown in the South and Bloodline represents their heritage. The pair have had two Billboard-chartings, are selling out shows and received a standing ovation at their Grand Ole Opry debut in 2018. Their sound seamlessly blends authentic and contemporary country.

The band's supporters had turned out for the show at Bobby's. The opening, title track presented by Muscadine Bloodline demonstrated how well Charlie and Gary's voices complement each other plus they were both apt on the six string. "Southern" was a slower more solemn piece while "Dyin' For A Livin'" was described as a barn burner that they lived through.

"Nothing says country music more than the sound of pedal steel so we decided to write a song about a conversation with one," the guys revealed before playing 'No, Pedal Steel' about a man pleading with the instrument to stop playing its lonesome sounds because it only makes him think of her. This single was one of a number of highlights of the set as was the closer "Down in Alabama" a fine tribute to their home state.

Muscadine Bloodline has hit the ground running with Dispatch to 16th Ave. and their release party proves that they have the chops and passion needed for the long haul. Bobby's Idle Hour Tavern is located at 9 Music Square South in Nashville. It is an old school bar that hosts open mics for musicians, songwriters and events such as livestream CD release parties for artists like Muscadine Bloodline.
