Deana Carter's Amazing Debut Album Still Has Legs at Ryman Celebration

by Rich and Laura Lynch

On November 18, 2021 Nashville native and CMA award-winner Deana Carter headlined the famed Ryman Auditorium for the first time as part of a celebratory concert that marked the release of the 25th Anniversary Edition of her 5X platinum debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This? She performed an intimate 90-minute set for the sold-out crowd, with special guests Charles Esten and Breland, as well as friends and collaborators Terri Clark, Kylie Morgan and Brandon Heath.

Our always intrepid colleague Marlene Felton was on hand and she reported back that Carter was looking and sounding amazing during the evening's performance where she announced her return as a full-time Music City resident after doing the L.A. thing for many years in the wake of the incredible success of her chart dominating debut album.

"My 25th anniversary show at the Ryman last night was like a dream," Carter reflected after the concert. "So many friends and family, the faithful fans and I felt so much love in the room in my favorite community, in the best sounding venue on earth! Such an honor and a celebration. I am still floating! Thanks to UMe/Capitol Nashville, all my very special guest artists, the staff, the crew, my band and team. Everyone from the 90s to today, I am just so grateful! Thank you to everyone who made every dream I ever had come true and for making such a remarkable milestone possible. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!"

Deana Carter's nearly flawless "Did I Shave My Legs For This?" is now available in an expanded 25th Anniversary Edition that features 2021 Versions of "Strawberry Wine" with Carter, Martina McBride, Lauren Alaina, Ashley McBryde, Kylie Morgan, and Vince Gill. The title track includes Carter, Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Ashley McBryde, and Vince Gill. The 25th anniversary editions of the album have been remastered from the original recordings and will be released on CD with two bonus tracks, as well as a Digital Deluxe with an additional ten songs, seven of which will be available digitally for the first time.
