NFL Draft Offers Rare Riverside Dining Experience at Colossal Tent Built on the Cumberland

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Well, the reviews are in and by all accounts Nashville and the NFL scored a thrilling touchdown while delivering an epic three-day 2019 NFL Draft (April 25 - 27) that won't be soon forgotten in Music City. Sure, this party town has a wealth of experience in pouring a lot of drafts but its citizens and community proved a top notch pick for the gridiron league that was celebrating its 100th year in existence.

The top circuit hits the century mark! Surely, there was no better reason for a celebration and Nashville lived up to its reputation on being a party town with a big heart. The 2019 NFL Draft shattered records for attendance as over 600,000 fans filled the streets of Nashville to warmly welcome the newest class of NFL rookies. In doing so, Smashville easily smashed by doubling and then some the 250k football fanatics who turned out in 2017 when it was Philadelphia's time to fly.

Among all the things the first class and generous organization that is the National Football League and their abundant event sponsors did right was highlighted by their diligent care of the media. The NFL and Nashville together constructed a multi-block media work tent that housed reporters, writers, athletes, their families and friends all in a high-tech structure that served as interview central and home to many top-level broadcasting, satellite and radio stations.

Two of the fabulous meals served to media by the football league at the 2019 NFL Draft.

The NFL provided continuous, delicious and overflowing catering for the eyes and ears of the world and by the second meal something occurred to us. This was a million dollar dining experience on the Cumberland River that was soon to disappear. They even provided our team from MCN with a window seat that was nothing short of amazing as we dined on steak, chicken, pork chops, vegetarian meat loaf, salad, sides, a heavenly angel food cupcake and much more.

Now that our city has approved an elaborate temporary structure once it's a good bet that another corporate giant will want Nashville to let them build a similar culinary experience for their clientele on the banks of the Cumberland. And, it probably won't be long until the NFL will pick us again to be their #1 Draft City in America. After seeing the resounding success of 2019 - why wouldn't they want to return for more Music City magic as soon as possible?
