Cam and The Cadillac Three Kick Off Day Two at the CMAs

by Rich and Laura Lynch

The reality of the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee is that any attendee will never be able to do every activity or see all the performances included in its very packed and schematically exact schedule. With our current state of technology that superhuman feat remains just out of our reach. But, for fans attending Day 2 on Friday, June 08, 2018 they couldn't have done much better than by doing what we did. That is by kicking off the day of limitless possibility by catching the rising Cam and the enduring Cadillac Three at the Chevy Riverfront Stage bright and early at 10 a.m.

Cam came out perky in a bright and tight yellow tee and cut-off shorts accentuated by sparkly leggings. She quickly began to swear quite proficiently before self-checking and toning down the barrage of four letter words at the fan and family friendly festival. Next, the curly-locked blonde provided the backstory behind her song "Fireball Whiskey" - a track the spirit company declined to use as a theme because they said, according to the singer, that it promoted irresponsible drinking.

It was a funny moment in a quick set that showcased all the reasons that Cam is quickly become the breakout country star of du jour. Her vibrant voice and boundless energy found the artist doing double duty and more at this year's beloved tribute to the fans - the CMA Festival. Speaking of double duty, we recently heard that there's a sure bet duet with the iconic Dolly Parton coming out later in the year so we'll drink to that.

The Cadillac 3 kick off day two at the CMAs

The Cadillac Three started their drinking at 8 am and came out with a bit more of a rock and roll swagger as they sang their anthems to whiskey and The South. Even though it was a morning gig the trio still provided enough of the excitement that had Steven Tyler declaring them his favorite band (except for Loving Mary, I'm sure) in town a few years back.

The CMA Festival is still growing in size and stature and the anticipation for the next go round begins soon after the last stage is torn down on Sunday night as Nashville goes back to its normal cycle of heat, honky tonks and bachelorette parties. Now, that they share a weekend with the competing and more eclectic Bonaroo perhaps there's a way they can cross promote in the future to continue the domination of the June music festival in Nashville far into the future.

This mohawked-CMA fan caught the attention of the stage announcer during the morning session.
