Rachel Price Releases EP in High Style in Nashville, TN

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Rachel Price was born and raised in Nebraska but as an aspiring singer/songwriter she realized that her home state might not be a musical mecca. About three years ago Rachel moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her dreams. So far Ms. Price has done well for herself. She found producers and other writers to collaborate with - a very Nashville thing to do.

Singer/songwriter Rachael Price releases "Home" in Nashville.

On May 05, 2017 we attended an EP release party for Rachel Price. The event was held in the elegant offices of G7 Entertainment Marketing located in the legendary Music Row area. What better place to celebrate new music in the neighborhood where many number one hits have been penned. Before and after Price's performance folks socialized and enjoyed refreshments. Rachel's parent were also in the house to support their daughter.

The new EP Home by AAA singer-songwriter Rachel Price reflects her roots with its sights on what could be a bright future. Home represents Price's hometown of O'Neill, Nebraska - population 3,700 - to which she'll always be deeply connected to and Nashville where she currently resides. Her 6-track EP is a heartfelt collection of compositions that are personal, poetic and filled with potential. Home features a full band but at the EP release party the songs were presented by an acoustic trio fronted by Ms. Price.

Around 6:30 p.m. the threesome moved to their instruments. They opened with the flavorful "Lemonade" filled with the positive advice to let you love flow. "Falling Off The Earth" was reflective and relatable as was the sentimental title track. "Love Is War" followed by "True Love Tragedy" allowed Rachel to showcase her expressive vocal range and style. The catchy "Stop Signs" was the most up-tempo tune of the night which featured more fine song craft from Rachel and her co-writers who she mentioned throughout the set.

For her encore Ms. Price presented a creative and cool cover of Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean". She turned this well-known dance tune into a smoldering piece of storytelling. The EP event was an elegant launch for Home which is a professionally packaged and produced CD and should be an effective calling card for this up-and-coming artist.

The sun came out as the Rachael Price trio performed six news songs in Music City.
