Nutrition Health Coach Simply Sherri Cooks Up a Kitchen's Worth of Pickleball Themed Recipes in Tasty Publishing Debut

by Rich and Laura Lynch

It is a delight to meet people such as Sherri Holzer who are passionate about what they do. Sherri is a cooking instructor and food strategist who enthusiastically pairs happiness with good health. If you have had the pleasure of attending one of Holzer's cooking classes, her zest for both is apparent. However, in recent years, Simply Sherri has also become a proponent for pickleball. Pickleball is a paddle sport that incorporates elements of ping-pong and tennis using its own rules and court dimensions.

Simply Sherri Cooks Up Everything But the Kitchen Dink!

Sherri decided to combine her interests into Everything But The Kitchen Dink. It is a recipe book based on her nutritional expertise spiked with pickleball references. Everything But the Kitchen Dink is your essential Mediterranean lifestyle cookbook, featuring fresh foods for both on and off the court. The book is aimed at novices to seasoned chefs and/or pickleball players.

On October 24, 2023, Sherri with her supporters hosted an official book launch party in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The celebration featured snacks from Everything But The Kitchen Dink. Sherri warmly greeted her guests as they entered the room while inviting us to sample some of the scrumptious foods from the book.

There was an ample amount of tasty treats to celebrate the book launch.

The presentation was picture perfect and we almost did not want to dig in but of course we did and all the colorful wholesome treats tasted as good as they looked. The carrot soup was simple yet with a few extra elements very flavorful as was the eggplant, hummus and the desserts were to die for.

Sherri gave a short speech about the meditation lifestyle with thanks to her Mother who taught her the joy of cooking and community. She also shared that the first time she went to try pickleball she was received by friendly people who were happy to explain the game making her feel like part of the team from day one. As Sherri finished her talk she encouraged us to pursue our dreams too. Interestingly, a portion of the court in pickleball is referred to as the kitchen thus the play on words in the title of her book.

Congratulations Simply Sherri!

Speaking of Everything But The Kitchen Dink - Wow! As we leafed through it - the black/white and color illustrations pop along with all the vibrant photos of the food. There is some commentary along with the recipes. It is beautifully presented, so much so that it would make a lovely coffee table book but of course it really belongs in the kitchen where you can follow Holzer's directions to prepare healthy dishes at home. So, pick up not one but perhaps two copies of Everything But The Kitchen Dink.

Everything But The Kitchen Dink is a one-of-a-kind Mediterranean lifestyle cookbook with a delightful pickleball twist. It is deeply rooted in Sherri's Greek-American heritage as it rejoices in happiness and health. If you have been thinking about wholesome cooking and pickleball this book is for you!

You can't have a great meal without dessert made from Sherri's recipes!
