Garth's Place Is a New High Point On Lower Broadway in Nashville

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Country music entertainer and exceptional entrepreneur Garth Brooks officially opened his branded dive bar called "Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk" on Black Friday, November 24, 2023 with a special performance that aired exclusively on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.

Garth's new bar rises in the shadow of the Batman Building on Broadway.

In early January your team from MCN took a trip to 411 Broadway to visit the former location of the well-loved Paradise Park. Once inside it became clear that the remodeling effort was a truly inspired undertaking as the multi-level establishment with a rooftop bar featured a near stadium sized stage within its sparkling, clean and cozy confines.

The fun looking Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk features a large stage and multi levels.

Impressing on that stage as part of a day long slate of entertainment was country rock artist Jason Cross who stood out with a perfect blend of edgy style and country swagger. Cross hails from Michigan and has made a name for himself in Music City with a credible list of performances under his belt, including supporting artists such as Granger Smith, Dillon Carmichael, Craig Morgan, Tyler Braden and Jon Langston. Check the schedule for the next time Cross appears at Garth's place.

Hanging a shingle in Nashville is another new triumph for Garth Brooks.

"The song outlives the artist. It's why it's not The Garth Bar," Garth Brooks told the media in advance of his grand opening concert on Broadway, excited to take his place among the many country star branded establishments in Nashville. "This town has been amazing to me. I know my bank account when I got here. I know where I was in my life when I got here, and I know where I'm at now. I'm looking at lower Broadway going, 'It's not the fact that Garth Brooks is missing, but 'Friends In Low Places' is missing down here, quite arguably maybe one of the most successful songs ... in country music."

Country rocker Jason Cross brought the goods on Saturday night.

For those of you who missed the show or livestream here is the Friends in Low Places Dive Bar Set List: Rodeo | Two of a Kind, Workin' on a Full House | Two Pina Coladas | Shallow - with Trisha Yearwood | She's in Love With the Boy - Trisha Yearwood | The River | That Summer | Rodeo Man - with Ronnie Dunn | The Thunder Rolls | Friends in Low Places | The Dance

Avoid the confusion: If you need to use the facilities it is "pink" for Trisha and "blue" for Garth.
