Grant Garland Lights Up Assembly Food Hall in Nashville

by Rich and Laura Lynch

We knew from the moment that we walked into 5th & Broad for dinner on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Assembly Food Hall in Nashville that there was something different about the performer and his group who were taking the stage as the Grant Garland Band. Grant is an artist who has shared the spotlight with the likes of B.B. King, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Steve Cropper, Melinda Doolittle, Margo Rey, Jimmy Hall and Mike Farris.

Grant likes to say that "all good music has soul" and that affirmation was on abundant display as was his captivating fusion of R&B, blues, jazz, pop, and rock during his well attended set in the shadow of the Ryman Auditorium. Garland - an Arkansas native - honed his craft in the clubs along the famed Beale Street in Memphis, TN. He has evolved far from his genre specific blues beginnings and is now likened to the guitar style of John Mayer and vocal contemporaries such as John Legend, Allen Stone and Bernhoft. Check him out if you're looking for something different - and perhaps far better than your typical Broadway fare - the next time you find yourself in Music City.

Grant Garland is a great guitar player and band leader.

Fifth + Broadway is a must-see downtown Nashville attraction with luxury retail and a food hall with 30+ destination dining options to compliment your day's entertainment. The facility is also fast becoming itself a Mecca for music on its multiple performance stages. Upcoming shows include Lauren Vale, Sam McCrary & The Mix, Paul Oakenfold, Debbie Gibson and more.
