Rockin' Rich Lynch Plays Sam's Jams on Music Row in Nashville
Nashville's Rockin' Rich Lynch got one giant leap closer to a major Music City breakthrough when he played at the entrance of Music Row courtesy of the singer/songwriter showcase called Sam's Jams on June 22, 2022 held on the outdoor patio at the Virgin Hotels Nashville.
Rockin' Rich Lynch adds Music Row to his conquests. MCN's own Rockin' Rich Lynch was in the first round of the night. His set included the catchy "Jesus Rock", "Those Days" a tip of the hat to classic rock and "Wake Up" expressing his disappointment regarding the current political environment. Sami's rounds are organized around themes making her one of the more creative hosts in town. To meet the "whiskey" obligation for the night he performed a stripped down version of his studio track "Take Me To Your Litter" which talks about alienation and drowning one's sorrows. Our host Sami Jo is a country singer/songwriter with a classic rock vibe. She is from Redding, California but moved to Music City to pursue her passion for writing songs. Sami Jo is a regular at The Bluebird Caf and other writer's rounds around town. In addition, she is "Paul" in an all-girl Beatles tribute band called Penny Lane. When she is not playing out she is busy supporting other musicians.
Our favorite hosts and yours - Sami Jo. In 2022, she set-up "Sam's Jams" - a weekly songwriter's showcase held at the Virgin Hotels Nashville. The high-end hotel is located in the heart of the industry's hub so artists can say that they played on Music Row. Since it was a theme night the owner of Bangtail Whiskey brands was on hand to talk up his product, offer shots and give away some promotional items and the acts played in front of an advertising backdrop for the company. Each artist was asked to perform an original song that mentioned the word whiskey. Future theme nights recently announced by Sami include 6/28: Elvis Night; 7/5: Red, White and Blue night; 7/12: Electric night; 7/19: Concert T night (must wear a concert T-shirt); 7/26: Flower Power (all the girls!); 8/2: Christian night (Christian music); 8/9: Blues/jazz night and, 8/16: Americana night.
These players rounded out the evening's rounds of music. Other performers on the evening's bill included Tyler Walker, Sash Callsen, Dorian Lackey, Jake Matthew, Liam Wall, Trevor Boulden, Anthony Mossburg and Brandon Bing. When onstage you'll see how Sami Jo is inspired by the likes of The Beatles, Stevie Nicks, Shania Twain and Miranda Lambert.
