Java With Javelyn Gets a Jolt of Energy in Nashville

by Rich and Laura Lynch

Javelyn is a singer-songwriter, performing artist, television host, social media influencer, industry connector and so much more who brought her multi-pronged brand and outgoing approach to Nashville when she moved to town from California a little over two years ago. In that time she has reached out to the diverse talent pool in Mid-Tenn to hold a number of showcases and writer's rounds to help unite and energize the music community in Music City.

Java With Javelyn makes its Music city debut.

But, it was on September 8, 2020 when she made the crucial call to resurrect a powerful event she spearheaded in Los Angeles called Java With Javelyn that is sure to give the Covid ravaged town the jolt of energy it needs to begin moving beyond the fallout of the pernicious pandemic. Javelyn says her newly reminted showcase is a music night to help build the indie and live performing music community in Nashville while providing crucial networking opportunities for artists and industry alike. The new venue just off of the Nolensville Pike is the 404 Bar and Grill so there is more than coffee on the menu. The full bar will come in handy as a means of helping artists alleviate those pre-show jitters.

As host, Javelyn wore many hats - running the soundboard, serving as emcee and getting the night off to an uplifting and positive start from behind the keyboard. She returned late in the event to close out the inaugural edition with her reggae influenced and Hawaii inspired "Krazy Kava" theme song. In between she introduced several Nashville favorites and up and comers including her longtime associate Rockin' Rich Lynch who used his segment to offer up storyteller style renditions of the timely Patriot Radio, followed by his latest single Just Waiting For You before ending with his road tested classic Ode to the Chemtrail Pilots and the politically charged Wake Up.

Rockin' Rich Lynch rocked the Nolensville Pike with five insightful songs.

More standout performers included the captivating Aiyana Cadwell - who with skillful, melodic piano playing and a warm, sultry voice delivered a number of her patented, self-healing confessionals that expressed strong, yet sincere emotions. Four string specialist Stephen Lawson was in fine voice as he revealed that he has spent much of the lockdown staying up late at night to work on his ukulele skills - and all that practice paid off during his impressive four song preview.

Guitarist Chris Stark opted for the electric as he ran through several punk rock covers that were presented with a convincing urgency as he marked his territory at the 404 Bar. Seth Alexander and Joseph Cartolano seemed to be familiar with each other's material as they provided more standard acoustic fair sharing support roles on most of the tracks they played together. Javelyn promises to hold weekly editions of her uniquely conceived showcase that should help Music City reemerge from the medically induced malaise that has infected the region. If you want to start jamming with Javelyn then get in touch with her A.S.A.P. to book your appearance at her next event.
