In Dickson We Caught a Festival Fit For a Fishin' Musician

by Rich and Laura Lynch

On Saturday, June 13, 2020 in Dickson, Tennessee there was no harder working man in show or grow business than the owner and proprietor of Diamond "C" Farms - the multi-talented and multi-tasking Mr. Steve Crow. He along with his wife Christine - who he calls the "rock" of the organization - hosted an invitation only Saturday Fish Fry which doubled as music festival and a feast for the senses.

Like the leaders of "CHAZ" Effron White was determined to Efrron-ize Dickson for a day.

The day's headliner based on prestige had to be the charismatic singer-songwriter Effron White - a nationally touring Americana musician who is quickly emerging as an American treasure. Like everyone else, the dreaded Covid has curtailed much of his ambitious plans for the year. But, he has promised a new album soon that he's currently simultaneously funding and recording in Nashville with the help of acclaimed Grammy Award-winning producer Shawn Camp. It's a sure bet that many new EFFRON-ites were claimed as the performer quickly took to the act of EFFRON-izing all in attendance.

Rockin' Rich Lynch, Mike Shipley, Darren T. and Buster take the stage.

The magnificent Mike Shipley was on hand to serve as the day's master of ceremonies, musical director, soundman and emcee with morning and afternoon slots of his own to showcase the gems off his new four-song CD. Simply titled "Shipley" the recording packs a pro punch of legitimacy and lands one of this nation's finest Patriots squarely on the Music City map as a force to be reckoned with. Mike brought many of the region's best songwriters to the stage. MCN founder Rockin' Rich Lynch took the opportunity to hone his craft and delivery with a terse four-song offering shortly after noon.

Hyram Posey, Denise Benson, Kirstie Kraus, Javelyn and Shay Lynn added their talents to the proceedings.

Another highlight was Hyram Posey who wasn't fiddling around. Well, the musician who added tracks to Shipley's latest actually was and it was a pleasure to watch him interact with a variety of the mid-day acts as the fun festival drew to a close. The ladies also got plenty of time to cast out their line as Shay Lynn from Utah and Denise Benson out of Texas brought their authentic takes on Country Music to the mid-Tenn stage. Javelyn and Kirstie Kraus did not disappoint as they debuted their peppy and fun recent co-write called "Giddyap" to a critically acclaimed reception.

It was a great day with Jaye P, Mike Shipley, Kirstie Kraus, Javelyn and more.

In addition to great music, a sunrise start to a day of fishing and an all-around idyllic setting the fine faire had guests "eating Crow" all day. That is nearly every seasoned veteran of the state staple known as fried catfish described Steve's spicy but subtle recipe as the best they ever had and the fries were pretty darn good, too!

The busiest man in show and grow business - Steve Crow.

In addition to manning the fryer all afternoon Steve served as the first drummer of the day all while maintaining his fields and lavender patch behind the wheel of his signature orange tractor. Crow and company will be hosting another event on Saturday, June 20, 2020 called "Lavender Day on the Farm" from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring a variety of vendors and classes on this versatile flowering species in the mint family. Interested in talking lavender - reach out to Steve (615.579.3724) or Flora Christine (615.426.7951) today.

Don't miss the upcoming "Lavender Day on the Farm" in Dickson, Tennessee.
