Topgolf - A Top Notch Attraction in Nashville
In recent years, Nashville Tennessee has become a top destination for tourists and transplants. The concept of multi-use communities is becoming more common place in Music City. So, Topgolf's model of multi-entertainment makes it one of many top attractions in the "It City". They also have free parking.
 Topgolf located at 500 Cowan Street is in close proximity to Downtown Nashville and trendy East Nashville. Obviously, golf is the main attraction at this entertainment complex but they also have a full service bar/restaurant that features a wide range of beers, wine, signature drinks and top shelf selections that can be paired with appetizers, burgers (including the Impossible), desserts, salads and sandwiches. Topgolf's menu also has brunch items that are available before 2 pm. Since we were at Topgolf early afternoon on Saturday we chose to try their new brunch items. We scored with the Acai Superfood Bowl that was packed with fresh fruits and granola in an acai puree. We also enjoyed the flavorful-sweet carrot cake waffles sprinkled with candied pecans and fresh strawberries all proudly prepared with care by Chef Luca.
 MCN's Laura Lynch was at the top of her game at Topgolf. One could go to Topgolf just for the food but there is more fun to be had as they have mastered the idea of golf as a socializing sport. No hushed tones here - instead music adds to the energetic vibe of Topgolf where each climate-controlled hitting bay is equipped with HDTV's. Topgolf's staff is available to bring beverages and food to the bays. In our case Paula took good care of us during our visit by helping us navigate the technology and recommending a satisfying course of play.
 Chef Luca's new delectable brunch items included these carrot cake mini waffles. Since this was our first time playing at Topgolf - before the clock started ticking - we were given an over-view of the user friendly touch screens that showcased a number of gaming options. Their computer can account for six players per bay with room for two more guests who can enjoy spending time with family and friends. Children are welcomed at Topgolf but must be accompanied by an adult with stricter rules in place at night. Topgolf also has specials such as Teacher Mondays (in the summer), 1/2 Price Tuesdays, lessons and youth programs. MusicCityNashville started with Topgolf's signature game - where players score points by hitting balls (assigned using microchip technology) into targets. Precision and distance determine the points earned. Quick 9 is a fast game of accuracy and amusement. Other options include challenges to hit targets at four consecutive distances (five shots each) along with more advanced levels for folks who might want to work on their game in this festive environment of 100+ climate-controlled hitting bays.
 Our best shots were powered in part by the brand new and delicious Acai Superfood Bowl. As were we playing we reflected on the fact that when Tiger Woods hit the circuit in the 1990's he reached a much younger generation. Tiger single-handedly increased the popularity of the sport at that time. Topgolf is a driving range in overdrive that is on par to reach multi-generations of players with its cool combination of golf, music and technology. They are sure to introduce the game to many enthusiastic new adherents - albeit in a much less traditional yet very fun manner that is free from the rules and regs often found on the links. Topgolf is a premier entertainment destination in Nashville - and by entertainment they are talking about a place for bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthdays, corporate events and date nights. Topgolf has a rooftop terrace with a skyline view VIP deck and it is also available for meetings. Along with food, fun and golf, one can enjoy live music at The Cowan which is also part of this multi-entertainment hub. We thoroughly enjoyed our day of socializing and sports at Topgolf with plans to return soon.
